The Sandy Apotheca has been thoughtfully curated as the retro-coastal retreat of my dreams. It does not over-complicate. It provides only the essentials for a rejuvenating stay. Nothing more.
The guesthouse has been styled with a nod to nostalgic fun, tied in with a helathy dose of coastal relaxation. Casual luxury awaits guests, with simple surprises and indulgent delights in unexpected corners of the retreat.

Port Stephens is a magical corner of the world. Only a 25 minute drive from Newcastle airport, NSW, The Sandy Apotheca offers guests the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. Retreat to your sanctuary when you need to read, create, rest and connect. When you are ready to explore, you will find pristine water, mountains, bushwalking, swimming, surfing, fishing, whale watching and superior restaurants await (Rick Stein’s Bannisters is a 15 minute beach-stroll away).
secluded, yet accessible
The Sandy Apotheca’s front door is located footsteps from the shore of Wanda Beach, where dolphins are frequently spotted fishing for their dinner or cresting close to shore. The guesthouse is a short walk to the local shopping village - cafe, service station, bakery, grocer, coffee van, restaurants & day spa - however, is set in a quiet nook removed from hustle and bustle.
practicalities
The Sandy Apotheca is a detatched guesthouse on our property, appointed with a kitchen (no oven), wifi, TV, picnic amenities, oil heater, reverse cycle air conditioner and basic provisions. There is off-street parking for one car with your own private driveway access at the rear of the property. Further information is available on our AirBnB listing.
